The works that will be displayed in this exhibition are taken from various collections I have painted over the last few years. They are all tied by the underlying theme about navigating the complex modern world of romantic love. I have been incredibly unwell and so drawing in bed has really been all I have managed to do the last couple of months… this is Jem from the 80s show Jem and the Holograms…reimagined as a woman from today… I was a huge fan of the show growing up… I’m currently reading one of my favourite authors Brett Easton Ellis new book why is set in the 80s totally taking me back to this amazing era …
